Wednesday’s hiring of Matt House as Kentucky’s linebacker coach means each of the SEC’s 14 coaching staffs now is complete.
There was a lot of coaching turnover in the SEC this offseason – and we’re not even counting the new staffs at Georgia, Missouri and South Carolina. Every SEC coaching staff except Ole Miss’ has at least one new assistant, meaning there is a lot of new coaching blood in the conference.
Here is a look at the 10 best assistant hires in the SEC this offseason, with two caveats:
* First, these are the best hires made by sitting coaches; that means we did not include the new staffs, figuring (rightly or wrongly) that a new assistant on an already-assembled staff can make a bigger impact than an assistant on an all-new staff.
