There are a lot of things that I love about college football. I’ve long said that my love for the game was born in October. I just don’t know which year, but I’m sure I was somewhere between superhero underwear and a metal cartoon lunchbox. While I’m unsure what age I was, I know with absolute certainty that it was because of the Florida-Georgia game that I fell in love with southern college football.
I grew up in Jacksonville, and the annual game has been something that I look forward to the entire year. While it may not be as recognizable as other rivalries, like Alabama-Auburn and Michigan-Ohio State, it’s something that is held as sacred to fans of the Florida Gators and Georgia Bulldogs, and to the residents of Jacksonville.
