Taking an historic look at SEC quarterbacks in the NFL

They had one thing in common: They were former Alabama quarterbacks.

At that time, Alabama produced far and away the best NFL quarterbacks in the SEC.

How times have changed.

By now, you know that Cincinnati’s A.J. McCarron has snapped the Crimson Tide’s streak of not having a quarterback start and win an NFL regular-season game since Jeff Rutledge in 1987.

Given Alabama’s success, that seems impossible.

But Alabama isn’t the only SEC team that’s had a drought with NFL quarterbacks. Mississippi State never has had a quarterback win an NFL game.
