GAINESVILLE — Few got the best of Steve Spurrier on the football field during his time on the Florida sideline.
On the day of the 91-year-old Florida State legend’s death, Spurrier recalled the success of Bowden’s Seminoles against the Gators.
“We had some good battles during my 12 years at Florida,” Spurrier wrote on his Twitter account. “He won most of them and we won a few.”
Bobby Bowden was one of the all time greatest coaches in the history of college football. He's the second winningest coach of all time behind Joe Paterno.
