GAINESVILLE — The temperature is rising once again around Georgia coach Mark Richt, even if hot-seat talk is absurd.
But Richt would calm a fiery fan base with a win Saturday against No. 13 Florida, a team that has given his critics considerable of ammunition.
Richt has faced four Florida coaches and has a winning record against one of them. And even Will Muschamp left Gainesville with the upper hand, thanks to a stunning 38-20 victory last season.
"Most of them have whooped me," said Richt, who is 5-9 against Florida.
Richt now looks to get off on the right foot in this heated rivalry against coach Jim McElwain while gaining the inside track in the SEC East.
