For much of this century, Florida brought in some of the best recruiting classes in the nation on an annual basis.
That has changed a bit of late, and one of the consequences of having less talent was that Jim McElwain was let go during the season.
Still, while recruiting under McElwain was relatively lackluster, Florida has had a handful of truly great recruiting classes in the 2000s. Here are the three best.
3. 2013
The skinny: The class ranked third nationally – hey, Will Muschamp could recruit, for sure – and had both five-star prospects who panned out (CB Vernon Hargreaves III) and under-the-radar three-star recruits who became key starters (LB Jarrad Davis, C Cameron Dillard, P Johnny Townsend, DT Joey Ivie, OL Trenton Brown).
