The television images capturing Kelvin Taylor and Jim McElwain together on the Florida sideline Saturday are far different than the one the nation saw just a few weeks ago.
There’s one of a smiling McElwain putting his arm around Taylor after a Taylor touchdown run. There’s another of the coach giving his No. 1 tailback a big hug after the Gators’ dramatic comeback win over Tennessee.
That profanity-laced tirade McElwain directed at Taylor for making the throat-slashing gesture three weeks ago against East Carolina seems so long ago now. At least it does to Taylor, who said Tuesday he’s grown from the incident and that McElwain was absolutely right to do what he did.
