The NFL draft has not gone according to plan for some former Florida Gators.
Right tackle Jawaan Taylor fell from the top 10 to the second round seemingly due to medical concerns he told Jacksonville reporters “were definitely false” after the Jaguars selected him with the No. 35 pick.
Projected as a first-round pick when he left school early, pass rusher Jachai Polite was selected early in the third round, at No. 68, by the New York Jets. A hamstring injury sustained during training and poor showings at both the NFL Scouting Combine and UF’s Pro Day cost one of the draft’s most explosive edge players potentially millions of dollars.
