DESTIN - New SEC consultant Mike Tranghese, the former Big East commissioner, said the new hires made in basketball last year — Mike White at Florida, Avery Johnson at Alabama, Ben Howland at Mississippi State and Rick Barnes at Tennessee — will help the SEC put more teams in the NCAA Tournament in the future.
“It’s about coaches and it’s about players,” Tranghese said. “Because I can tell you, no administrator has ever won any games. I know I never did.
