A pair of Florida basketball players earned individual accolades Monday.
Senior forward Dorian Finney-Smith was named SEC player of the week, while freshman guard KeVaughn Allen was one of 10 players named to the Wayman Tisdale Award midseason watch list.
Finney-Smith averaged 22 points and 10.5 rebounds in UF wins over Mississippi State and Auburn. He’s posted double-doubles in four of his last six games.
Allen earned consideration as one of 10 players to watch for the Wayman Tisdale Award, given by the USBWA to the best freshman college basketball player in the country.
The 6-foot-2 Allen has started 17 of 19 games this season, averaging 11.
