Florida and Miami could be resuming their rivalry soon.
The Gators and Hurricanes are close to agreeing to a deal to open the 2019 season at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, according to this report from the Orlando Sentinel.
The state powers last met in September 2013, when the ‘Canes earned a 21-16 home win.
In addition to renewing a rivalry, the game would continue both programs' attempts to schedule marquee non-conference opponents. UF plays Michigan on Sept. 2, 2017, and Miami will open the 2018 season against LSU. Both of those neutral-site games are in Arlington, Texas.
