Florida reinstated four players who were suspended last season, and while that means that 2016 leading rusher Jordan Scarlett is back on the team, it also means that the Gators now actually look to have a bit of depth at linebacker.
Nine players were suspended for their part in credit card fraud. Four are gone: wide receiver Antonio Callaway turned pro, and defensive end Jordan Smith, defensive tackle Richerd Desir-Jones and offensive tackle Kadeem Telfort have transferred. The four who were reinstated are Scarlett, wide receiver Rick Wells and linebackers James Houston and Ventrell Miller. Defensive end Keivonnis Davis also was suspended but his health is a concern; he was involved in a scooter accident in September and may not be able to play this season.
