Associate men’s basketball coach Armon Gates arrived at UF April 10 after a sweeping search by Gators’ head coach Mike White.
Less than a month later, Gates is gone, with no explanation why he soon is expected to land at the University of Nebraska.
Gates’ departure first was reported Thursday by the Chicago Sun-Times, citing White’s concern with the “overall dynamic of the coaching staff” as the reason for the Gators’ sudden departure.
A UF spokesman declined to offer a reason for Gates’ decision and left it up to Nebraska the announce the move.
