Purdue QB transfers to UF

Former Purdue quarterback Austin Appleby has decided to transfer from the Boilermakers and enroll in graduate courses Tuesday at Florida for his final collegiate season.

Appleby graduated from Purdue in December and asked coach Darrell Hazell for his release, as first reported by GoldandBlack.com. A redshirt junior last season, Appleby started 11 games in his career with the Boilermakers, including the first three games of last season before he was benched for redshirt freshman David Blough. Appleby would get the starting nod for the team’s final two games as he finished the season throwing for 1,260 yards with eight touchdowns and eight interceptions on 57.
