If the prognosticators and preseason publications prove correct, Jim McElwain, Florida's new offensive-minded head coach, will have no stars to build his first offense around in 2015.
That latest example is the preseason All-SEC team voted on by the media two weeks ago. There isn't a single Gator on it — first, second or third team.
McElwain, of course, does have some talent to work with. It's just unknown at this time. Here's a look at five offensive players with the potential to make names for themselves and emerge as stars this fall:
David Sharpe, sophomore offensive tackle: This highly rated prospect who gained valuable playing time as a true freshman has somehow gotten lost amid all the negativity swirling around UF's inexperienced and depth-shy offensive line.
