Growing up, Florida sophomore cornerback Quincy Wilson could count on his father for guidance on and off the football field.
“My dad’s been everything for me,” Wilson said. “He was the one that actually put me to play corner because I was a quarterback all my life. So I always go back to him and try to get his opinion because he played cornerback, too. He’s meant a lot.”
Wilson’s dad, Chad Wilson, was a star college defensive back who transferred from Long Beach State to Miami. From 1992-94, the elder Wilson played for the Hurricanes defense alongside future NFL Hall of Famers Ray Lewis and Warren Sapp.
