ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Florida’s trip to face Navy in the Veterans Classic wasn’t solely for basketball purposes.
It was an educational trip as well. On Thursday, Florida players toured the Navy campus, along with players from North Carolina and Temple.
During the tour of the “Yard” (what Midshipmen call the Navy campus), players watched the noon formation and ate lunch with the Brigade at King Hall. The teams boarded a yard patrol ship, went into a ship simulator, toured a MH-60S helicopter and toured a Marine Corps humvee.
“It's an enormous honor to be part of this, to learn about this place and spend some time here,” Florida coach Mike White said.
