Mike Peterson, a former Florida All-American who was working as a strength and conditioning coach on Jim McElwain’s staff, has been hired at South Carolina.
Peterson will be introduced in Columbia, S.C., on Thursday as Will Muschamp has now completed his staff at South Carolina.
Peterson, a quarterback at Santa Fe High School in Alachua, was an All-American at UF and part of the 1996 national championship team. He played for 13 years in the NFL (Falcons, Jaguars and Colts) before joining Muschamp’s staff at Florida in 2013 as a graduate assistant.
