Former Gators linebacker Mike Peterson will return to UF as the outside linebackers coach and alumni liaison, according to a report by The Athletic.
He played in 42 games at Florida from 1995-98 and started 24 of them. He recorded 249 tackles, three forced fumbles, 13 tackles-for-loss and 8 1/2 sacks and was named a First Team All-American as a senior. He started at middle linebacker on the 1996 national championship team.
He was inducted into the UF Athletic Hall of Fame in 2011.
The Indianapolis Colts selected him in the second round of the NFL Draft, but he’s best known for his six seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
