The University of Miami has fired head football coach Al Golden, the school announced Sunday evening.
The announcement comes a day after the Hurricanes suffered their worst loss in program history - a 58-0 rout by No. 6 Clemson.
Tight ends coach and former USF assistant Larry Scott will be UM's interim head coach for the final five games of the season.
"Coach Golden has led our program through some very difficult times and he has done so with class, integrity and a true desire to see our students succeed on the field, in the classroom and in the community," athletic director Blake James said in a statement.
