LAKELAND — The road to success is always lined with potholes.
Right now, new Florida head football coach Jim McElwain is navigating the road and hoping not to have a blowout before his first regular season game.
McElwain, who was in Lakeland to speak to the estimated 575 fans and boosters that showed up to the Polk County Gator Club’s annual event at The Lakeland Center on Tuesday night, is having to deal with an issue regarding freshman defensive back J.C. Jackson.
Jackson was arrested over the weekend on suspicion of armed robbery after an incident at a Gainesville apartment complex where two armed men allegedly robbed the occupants of drugs, money and personal belongings.
