Florida’s quarterback competition remains a three-man race with the season less than two weeks away.
Malik Zaire, Feleipe Franks and Luke Del Rio are battling to win the right to start the season opener against Michigan on Sept. 2 in Arlington, Texas.
For Zaire, he’s an experienced veteran when it comes to quarterback races. He started three games at Notre Dame before enrolling at Florida in June as a grad transfer.
“This is nothing new to me,” Zaire said. “I’ve been in this situation for the last five years.”
Florida coach Jim McElwain has praised Zaire’s ability to compete with himself and block out the distractions that come with a quarterback competition.
