GAINESVILLE -- After striking out the final batter he faced on Friday, Logan Shore let out a shout of excitement, pumping his right fist before hugging catcher Mike Rivera.
Not only did the junior throw a complete-game shutout to even No. 2 Florida's series with Georgia, but the 6-0 win also marked Shore’s school-record 13th consecutive win, breaking Russ Kibler’s mark of 12 straight set in 1984. UF went on to take the series with a 4-1 win on Saturday.
“Kind of being the Friday-night starter and pitching in the SEC, you’ve got to step up your game and kind of got to know what the role is,” Shore said.
