Lindy Infante, a prominent Florida player in the early 1960s and later an assistant coach under Ray Graves and Doug Dickey, died Thursday in St. Augustine. He was 75.
Infante was a two-way standout (running back and defensive back) for the Gators from 1960-62 and a member of Graves’ first UF team in 1960. He returned to his alma mater as an assistant coach in 1968 and coached two years under Graves as the head freshman coach. He was on Dickey’s UF staff from 1970-71, serving as the running backs coach.
