The Los Angeles Rams selected wide receiver Van Jefferson with the 57th overall pick on Friday night. With Jefferson getting the call in the second round, he became the highest-drafted Florida receiver since Percy Harvin was picked in the first round back in 2009.
Jefferson, who is also the first UF receiver to get picked up in the second round since Chad Jackson in 2006, led the Gators in yards (657) and was second on the team in receiving touchdowns (six) and catches (49) in 2019.
He was projected to be a third-round draft pick by NFL analystLance Zierlein, but instead he is the second Gator to be selected — second to only first-round draft pick C.
