Kerwin Bell remembers one UK-Kentucky game — the last one the Gators lost

Kerwin Bell started at quarterback for Florida for four seasons, which means he started four times against Kentucky. Only one game against the Wildcats sticks out for him, the one in 1986.

That’s because the Gators lost that game 10-3 – and it’s also the last time Kentucky beat Florida. The Gators carry a 29-game winning streak over UK into Saturday’s game with the Wildcats, the longest current streak of that type in the nation.

Ask him about the 1987 game against Kentucky – coincidentally, the Gators’ only win in their last five games that season – and what it means to be the quarterback who “started the streak,” and he gets a slightly baffled look on his face before laughing and admitting, “You know, I don’t even remember that game.
