Florida is searching for a new athletic director to replace the retiring Jeremy Foley, and GN has learned that Kansas State AD John Currie is on the UF campus Tuesday.
Currie, 45, has been K-State’s athletic director since 2009 and makes $775,000 annually. Foley – whose retirement is scheduled for October 1 – is one of the highest-paid ADs in the nation, at more than $1 million per year.
Before going to K-State, Currie spent 12 years in a variety of roles in Tennessee’s athletic department, eventually rising to become UT’s executive associate athletic director.
