Former UF pitcher Brady Singer is well known for his competitive nature. The Kansas City Royals are, in part, banking on that side of the Eustis native going forward.
Singer officially joined the Royals organization on Tuesday, signing for $4.25 million, according to MLB.com's Jonathan Mayo, above the slotted amount of $3,349,300.
The Royals made the UF right-hander the 18th overall pick in last month’s amateur draft.
Singer was the ace of a pitching staff that played a key role in getting the Gators to the College World Series. Singer, who was named the national player of the year by Baseball America and D1baseball.
