When Florida athletic director Scott Stricklin fired former coach Jim McElwain last October, he mentioned the strength and conditioning program as one area that needed change.
When Dan Mullen was hired, Stricklin said, “Coach Mullen will do a tremendous job in developing accountability and toughness through a well-coordinated strength and conditioning program.”
And Mullen himself said in his introductory news conference that he told the players “to rest up over the month of December because when they come back in January, it’s probably going to be something they’ve never experienced in their lives before.”
If the tweets of several Gators players are any indication, that change has come fast.
