Redshirt senior Jordan Sherit had successful hip surgery this week effectively ending his career with the Florida Gators.
Sherit missed his freshman season at Florida while recovering from ACL surgery during his senior year of high school. He missed three games in 2016 because of injuries, including the SEC Championship and Outback Bowl after knee surgery. Sherit was leading the Gators with 9 quarterback hurries through six games. He’ll finish the year with 23 tackles, five for a loss and 2.5 sacks.
“It’s a bad deal,” Jim McElwain said on the SEC Coaches Teleconference Wednesday afternoon.
“Oh man, I hate it for Jordan Sherit,” redshirt sophomore linebacker Kylan Johnson said.
