No reason was given and McElwain wouldn’t even say if they were suspended (they are, which a school spokesman confirmed a few hours later – but he gave no reason, either). Thus, social media jumped into speculation mode. When there’s speculation – and, thus, innuendo – there exists an opening for people to start digging for information that may not even be pertinent to the original issue in question.
