Coming off back-to-back SEC East Championships Jim McElwain was given a contract extension through January 2023. The one-year extension brings his average annual salary over the six-year contract up to $4.486 million (from $4.1645) annually. McElwain is 19-8 (13-3 SEC) in two seasons at Florida.
Head basketball coach Mike White was also given a one-year contract extension through 2023. White, who is 48-24 (23-13 SEC) and just led the Gators to the Elite Eight, had his total contract reach $16,275,000 over six years, giving him an average annual salary of $2,712,500.
“Both Coach Mac and Coach White have done a phenomenal job of leading our programs and
we are looking forward to having them lead the Gators for years to come,” Florida Athletic Director Scott Stricklin said.
