Driskel, who threw for 4,026 yards and 27 touchdowns at Louisiana Tech, spoke with the media on Thursday in Indianapolis at the NFL Scouting Combine. He said his subpar career with the Gators prepared him to have the success he did in 2015.
“I believe that I could’ve (been successful at Florida),” Driskel said. “I don’t think it was a matter of competition. I think it was a matter of me playing well and throwing it to the right guy with certain looks.”
Driskel, who was the nation’s top quarterback in the 2011 recruiting class, decided to transfer after the 2014 season, following Will Muschamp’s dismissal as coach.
