The 115 MPH laser beam that found its way into the seats inside Charles Schwab Field on Monday afternoon was historic. Jac Caglianone launched his 34th home run of the season and 74th of his career against NC State in the College World Series.
His 34th home run of the season broke Florida’s single season home run record of 33, previously set by Mr. Caglianone himself just one year ago.
The long ball also tied Florida’s career home run record of 74, tying Matt LaPorta’s record that he set back in 2007. Many thought this record was untouchable in the BBCOR bat era, but Caglianone needed just 627 at bats over the course of 2.
