Florida will get one last test on the road in the NIT quarterfinals.
The second-seed Gators will face fourth-seed George Washington on Wednesday at the Smith Center in Washington, D.C. (7 p.m., ESPN2).
George Washington (25-10) advanced with an 87-71 win over top-seed Monmouth on Monday night. Florida will play its third straight game on the road due to the O’Connell Center’s $64.5 million interior renovation.
George Washington is led by junior forward Tyler Cavanaugh, a Wake Forest transfer. The 6-foot-9, 238-pound Cavanaugh is averaging a team-high 16.5 points per game and scored 22 points in the Monmouth win.
