Florida’s 38-24 win over Vanderbilt on Saturday came at a high cost. That’s tough to endure for a Florida roster already on its way to being broken.
Florida already had lost starting quarterback Luke Del Rio to a broken collarbone against the Commodores. On Monday, Gators coach Jim McElwain revealed that top wide receiver Tyrie Cleveland suffered what McElwain described as the “dreaded” high-ankle sprain against Vandy. McElwain said he hoped Cleveland would be back for the spring game in a tone that suggested sarcasm and desperation.
Cleveland is Florida’s most productive receiver and best deep threat.
