Incoming UF kicker Evan McPherson is no YouTube sensation like predecessor Eddy Piñeiro, who once posted video an 81-yard field goal from practice.
McPherson has never kicked in an SEC stadium, where Piñeiro missed just three field goals in 30 tries with the Gators.
McPherson knows the big shoes coach Dan Mullen expects him to fill next season.
“Coach Mullen said when I come in it’s my job to lose,” McPherson said during the Under Armour All-American Game.
McPherson’s main competition, though, will be the legacy of Piñeiro, who decided to leave a year early for the NFL after two record-setting seasons at UF.
