Hot-shooting start leads Gators past Georgia 77-63

With balanced scoring and a hot-shooting start, Florida thrived in its Southeastern Conference opener on Saturday night against Georgia.

Freshman KeVaughn Allen led five Florida scorers in double figures with 18 points, lifting the Gators to a 77-63 win over the Bulldogs at the O’Connell.

Sophomore forward Devin Robinson added 13 points off the bench for the Gators (9-4, 1-0 SEC) before leaving the game in the second half with a chest injury. Center John Egbunu had 12 points and 12 rebounds for his third double-double of the season and point guard Chris Chiozza had 11 points and six assists.
