True freshman Malik Davis has made a big early impact in his Florida career — a bigger impact than most recruiting analysts thought.
Davis, a consensus three-star recruit from Tampa Jesuit, has rushed for a team-leading 321 yards while scoring two touchdowns to help Florida get out to a 3-1 start in 2017. He is the leading freshman rusher in the SEC and No. 6 nationally among first-year players.
“The kid is one of those type of kids that when he sets his mind to do something, or when someone tells him that he can’t do something, he is going to find a way to do it,” Jesuit coach Matt Thompson told GN.
