Gators infielder Colby Halter has been named the SEC Co-Player of the Week. He was also honored as one of Collegiate Baseball’s National Players of the Week.
Halter, a sophomore from Jacksonville, has started every game this season, seven times at second base and once at shortstop.
During the Gators’ five games last week, he led the SEC with 12 hits and produced a .545 batting average. He also belted three home runs, drove in six runs and didn’t commit an error in 28 defensive chances.
Halter established a new career high with four runs scored from his leadoff spot in the Saturday game against Georgia State, and he turned in his first career four-hit game in the finale on Sunday.
