GN draft decisions: Florida DE Alex McCalister

Florida defensive end Alex McCalister is a one-trick pony of sorts, but that trick is his pass-rush ability and it makes him an intriguing NFL draft prospect.

Gridironnow.com’s Amanda Borges looks at the pros and cons of McCalister as an NFL edge rusher.

McCalister (6 feet 6, 239 pounds) is a good athlete who has a quick first step and can get around the edge. He has good size, long arms and a frame that can take another 20 or so pounds. He fits in a 3-4 as an outside linebacker and can be used in a 4-3 as a pass-rushing end.
