UF wide receiver Van Jefferson’s father, Shawn, caught passes for 13 seasons in the NFL and currently coaches the position with the New York Jets.
As the second round of the 2020 NFL draft unfolded, it appeared a father-son reunion was in the offing. But the Los Angles Rams stepped in and snagged the younger Jefferson with the No. 57 pick — two spots ahead of the Jets, who settled Baylor wideout Denzel Mims.
Jefferson now will be on the other side of the country looking to make his own name in the NFL. The 23-year-old will give the Rams a polished route-runner and blessed with a tremendous work ethic.
