Gators' tourney hopes take hit with home loss to Vandy

Florida picked a bad time to have its worst defensive game of the season Tuesday.

Vanderbilt dominated the game inside and out, beating the Gators 87-74 at the O’Connell Center and putting a dent in UF’s NCAA Tournament hopes.

Damian Jones scored 27 points to lift Vanderbilt (17-11, 9-6 SEC) to the win. The Commodores also went 10 of 20 from 3-point range, including an 80-footer by backup center Josh Henderson at the first-half buzzer that put Vandy up 40-35 at halftime.
