Florida sophomore quarterback Treon Harris is available this week, but will play against Ole Miss only if coaches want a change of pace from starter Will Grier.
Harris served a one-game suspension while Grier rallied the Gators to a 28-27 win last Saturday against Tennessee.
Coach Jim McElwain said Monday he would continue to rely on both quarterbacks, but made it clear Wednesday Grier had earned the starting role.
“We've got two guys,” McElwain said. “We've got one that played pretty good in some situations last week that deserves to go this week. But he knows that he's got a lot to learn and a long ways to go as far as understanding how to play the position.
