With all this talk about staying focused, living in the moment and not letting all the praise and tummy rubs go to their heads, there seems to be one sure way for the Florida Gators to avoid a letdown at Missouri on Saturday.
Simply pop in the tape of last year’s game. That should do it.
With this fresh and undefeated start under coach Jim McElwain, the players have been reluctant to talk about the unpleasant recent past. But it’s hard to ignore in this case, because it was a year ago that Florida football sunk almost to a Georgia Southern level of lowness from the season before.
