GAINESVILLE — With two seconds left in the first half of Florida's game against Vanderbilt on Tuesday, backup UF center Schuyler Rimmer went up for a layup that would have evened the score.
Instead, a miracle play for Vanderbilt ensured that the Gators continued to play from behind.
Vanderbilt's Matthew Fisher-Davis blocked Rimmer's shot and the ball landed in teammate Josh Henderson's hands.
With a Hail Mary-esque heave, Henderson — a backup center averaging just 11.2 minutes and 3.6 points per game this season — launched the ball 80 feet as the buzzer sounded, making the basket and sending the Commodores bench into a full-on celebration heading into intermission.
