GAINESVILLE — Florida guard Noah Locke is a shooter, one of the Gators’ best from long range in quite some time.
But it’s hard to make shots from the bench, a place Locke found himself just 40 head-spinning seconds into UF’s 86-40 home win over Stetson Sunday.
Coach Mike White’s defense-first philosophy put Locke in the crosshairs and on the sideline after he failed to rotate, allowing an easy 3-pointer for the Hatters during a dismal day on offense for Donnie Jones’ struggling squad.
“Noah knows; Noah’s bought in; and Noah embraces guarding at a high level,” White said.
