Everyone packed inside Florida’s indoor practice facility for Wednesday’s Pro Day knew Kyle Trask can throw a football.
But while his bid to become the Gators’ fourth Heisman-winning quarterback came up short, Trask made a compelling NFL case.
Steve Spurrier, Danny Wuerffel and Tim Tebow each won a Heisman and now has a bronzed, life-sized replica of himself outside the Swamp. None enjoyed a memorable professional career.
Trask will have a chance at the next level to upstage the Gators’ legendary trio. The 22-year-old possesses prototypical size (6-5, 236), while his accuracy, decision-making and football IQ bred confidence in the huddle.
