UF softball coach Tim Walton gave ace pitcher Lauren Haeger's arm a rest during his team's biggest game of the season.
But Haeger's hot bat did not take the night off.
The senior star belted two-run home run during the first inning and doubled two innings later to drive in a run and give the top-seeded Gators the cushion needed to hold off No. 3 Michigan 3-2 Monday night.
Haeger's homer was her fourth in five games and gave her 71 for her career, adding to her NCAA record.
UF is now one win away from its second straight national title.
