The Florida Gators will be without a starting offensive tackle Mason Halter when the team begins preparations for Friday's Citrus Bowl against No. 14 Michigan.
Halter and back-up linebacker Anthony Harrell, both senior transfers, have been suspended for academic reasons, the school announced.
Halter, who came to UF from Fordham, started every game for the No. 19 Gators (10-3), including 12 at right tackle. He likely will be replaced by freshman Fred Johnson when UF faces the nation's fourth-ranked defense.
Johnson has one career start, on Nov. 7 against Vanderbilt.
Harrell, a Tampa native who transferred from Georgia Tech last spring, has played every game this season, mostly on special teams.
